An Overview of our Services
Spence and Dower can offer clients a full range of services to meet all of the RIBA project stages as outlined below. Some may not be relevant to your project. We look at each new enquiry on an individual basis and will discuss your requirements with you to tailor our services to the needs of your project. We are happy to be engaged at the start of a project for the full range of services, but we are equally happy to be engaged on smaller packages of work, perhaps to be undertaken as budgets allow. We are also qualified to carry out work which requires an AABC registered architect.
Services we can provide include:
- Full measured survey
- Condition surveys
- Feasibility study
- Planning Applications
- Listed Building Consent Applications
- Scheduled Monument Consent Applications
- Building Regulations Applications
- Full working drawings to allow competitive tenders to be sought
- Obtaining tenders from suitable contractors
- Contract administration (site inspections, valuations etc)
We also carry out:
- Quinquennial inspections for churches
- Conservation Management Plans
- Archaeological recording, surveys and research including:
- Heritage Impact Assessments
- Conservation Audits
- Statements of Significance

Please feel free to contact us to discuss any aspect of your project. If we feel we can help we will normally arrange to meet with you, free of charge, to work out how we can best achieve your goals.
