Netherby Hall, Longtown, Cumbria

A complex multi-faceted and phased masterplanning project is ongoing at this Grade II* Listed Hall, formerly the country seat of the Grahams from C16th to 1989.

A major investment in putting the fabric of the whole estate into good order is now underway. Since commencing our work:

• All the windows in Netherby Hall itself have been refurbished, repaired or replaced as appropriate and in line with Listed Building Consent approval;
• We have assisted in progressing the reinstatement of the derelict stable buildings to house the owners’ horses and carriages, together with grooms’ living accommodation, a new dwelling with wheelchair access and refurbishment of the Clock Tower;
• Three large apartments in the North Wing of the house have been created for holiday accommodation, including one which has converted the impressive Moot Hall;
• We have obtained Listed Building Consent and Planning Approval for four new dwellings and a new ecologically sensitive garden near the Walled Garden;
• The restoration of the Walled Garden to its former glory is well underway, including new glasshouses and putting the buildings outside the garden into good order providing two dwellings.
