Contemporary extension in National Park

A lightweight timber and glass extension to what was once a Shepherd’s Bothy provides a sensitive addition from which to take in the breathtaking views of Northumberland National Park. Split level, the extension remains subservient to the original stone cottage as it steps away down the hillside. With very restricted headroom to the first floor of the original cottage, the master bedroom has been brought downstairs and a new kitchen and dining area created in the extension.
