Belsay Hall
We have been involved with several conservation projects at Belsay Hall both within the grade 1 listed Hall and on structures within the property as a whole. Works have included the repair and reinstatement of features removed from the Hall in the 1980’s at the time of the dry rot outbreak including new timber floors to some of the principal ground and first floor rooms and new lime plastering to the main first floor bedrooms which has allowed some areas to be opened to the public for the first time. We have also been involved in re-roofing the flat section of roof above the pillar hall which surrounds the lantern, works on the second floor of the hall as well as repairing the summerhouse in the garden following storm damage and the barrier around ‘Lucky Spot’, the crystal horse sculpture designed by Stella McCartney at the castle.
